We had the most wonderful New Year stay at this luxury lodge. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely immaculate - beautifully clean, cosy, and so thoughtfully presented. The heavy snowfall made the setting feel truly magical and like something out of a winter fairytale. Although the snow meant we couldn’t get out and about as much as planned, the hosts couldn’t have done more for us. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed and more. The hot tub was a real highlight - relaxing in the warmth while taking in the stunning snowy views over Aberdeenshire was unforgettable. We also loved the little extra touches: toasting marshmallows, and having great fun sledging with the equipment they kindly lent us. A truly special place with exceptional hosts. We left feeling relaxed, looked after, and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend - a perfect 5-star stay.

Amazing get away! Louise was a wonderful host and accommodated for our 10 dogs… even going as far as making sure there was a freezer on site for dog food! Couldn’t do enough for us and the place is just beautiful and clean. Very relaxing experience.

One week at Bennachie Lodge on Logie Newton Farm is the reset and break away you didn't know you needed. Rural luxury and like a home away from home. The most genuine, inclusive and dog friendly accommodation we've come across in Scotland so far! Louise & Mike have been the best hosts and we will definitely be back with Isla & Luís (if we're allowed). 🐾🖤🤎🐾

Firstly the communication with Louise was superb, I had quite a few queries and Louise dealt with them all and put my mind at rest. Her responses were so fast and contained all the information that I needed. The lodge is fabulous, really high end luxury. Extremely clean and welcoming. Everything that you would need for a great holiday is included (and more) and of top notch quality. Cutlery, crockery, pans, utensils, and so much more, are all matching and high quality. Appliances are all top of the range and immaculate. The beds are really comfortable and again the linens are top quality. The bathrooms are beautifully decorated and appointed, really impressive. The outside space is incredible, just sitting and drinking in the views and peace and tranquillity. The hot tub is of the same high end quality and even the addition of plastic flutes, everything is thought of. Dogs and horses are so welcome, the welcome pack for our dog was such a beautiful addition to our welcome. I don't want to spoil the experience by letting out some of the absolutely lovely things that Louise does to make sure that you are made welcome, but she really does go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable and happy. If you are concerned about being eco friendly, then Louise and team have thought about everything and I doubt that you would be concerned at any aspect of the accommodation. I just can't recommend the lodge, the interior, the exterior and the team enough, thank you so much for a fabulous holiday.

We had a fantastic stay at the Bennachie Lodge with our old pooch Percy the Dog Park and wood walks were perfect plus the enclosed garden so we could chill and know he was safe in his surroundings.  The weather complimented our stay although the sheer luxury of the lodge and amenities would have made it a great stay without the sunshine. Louise was the best host you could wish for and when our daughter and granddaughters arrived for a visit she went out of her way to show them the animals on the farm, the 3 Alpacas, 4 Sheep and 3 lovely horses. That really made their day. The guide and map was the best we have seen and we took advantage of the advice contained in them especially the Farm shop just down the road which was state of the art, sold fantastic produce and ready meals and the best coffees. We can't wait to book again especially as we already miss the Highland Cows which we visited and fed everyday.

We had a fantastic stay at Logie Newton Lodges. Louise, our host, was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, making us feel at home right away. The dog hamper was such a thoughtful touch, and our Beagle Chester loved the secure garden to roam safely. The hot tub was the perfect place to unwind while soaking in the beautiful panoramic views - from breath-taking sunrises to magical moonlit nights.

We stayed in the Bennachie lodge and had the best time, it is beautifully designed and finished to a very high standard with every detail thought of even down to the personalised towels. A lovely dog hamper was also provided with bowls, towels, shampoo, local dog treats etc. The farm tracks and dog field were great for our dog to run around in, she also met the highland cows through the fence they were so friendly. The views from the lodge were stunning, it was total bliss being in the hot tub after a day of exploring and just relaxing and taking it all in. Louise was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, we will definitely be back and we highly recommend a stay at the Logie Newton Lodges you will not be disappointed.

We are just back from a lovely long weekend, was our first time at the lodges, they are beautiful inside and out, they are fully equipped, we got a lovely hamper for our dogs with local treats, dog tags and extra lead etc, we must of picked the hottest weekend ever to go but lodges have air con which was a life saver. The views from the lodges are just simply beautiful, loads a lovely walks. Both humans and animals are well looked after. The owner Louise was so helpful and gave us a lovely tour around the farm animals which our wee girl loved, we even got to feed the highland cows that are right outside your lodge, in the evening we chilled out in the hot tub, was just bliss

We had a fantastic weekend in Woodland lodge. The lodges themselves are immaculate and have everything you need with views to die for! The drying room/storage shed on the side of the lodge is perfect for keeping bikes or any other outdoor gear you bring and so the living space feels like a proper haven rather than the dumping ground we often create on arrival at similar places.

The location is wonderful, quiet roads and tracks can be accessed from the door on 2 wheels, 2 feet or even 4 feet if you bring a horse - we didn’t but they are set up for that too.

The welcome is the of the warmest kind and Louise can’t do enough to ensure you have the best of holidays. We look forward to returning soon.

What a wonderful place to stay! Our long weekend at the Woodland Lodge was amazing. The lodge was so well equipped, everything you could possibly need and more, right down to the refill bottles ready for a walk to the farm shop for a milk top up. Meeting the animals on the farm was wonderful, such gentle creature’s who obviously share all the love they receive from Louise and her family. My lasting memories will include feeling thoroughly spoilt and the view from the lodge, which truly is breath-taking.

This place exceeded all expectations in both the horse, dog and human accommodation. We were so well catered for, the lodge was exceptionally clean and the sofas and beds were very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for Louise and she really does make such an effort to ensure we were all having a great stay. My horse enjoyed the facilities very much and was so relaxed that despite being the only horses there at the time, she lay down and had a good sleep in her big stable with comfy deep bedding. We came in June and are heading back in September so that I can ride the epic tracks with my horse again. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed in staying here!

We had such a wonderful five days at Logie Newton.  I knew it was going to be great, but was still surprised - it was spectacular!  The attention to detail, the beautiful views (they are better than the photos!), the personal welcome - we just had the most wonderful, relaxing break.  Our girls loved chilling in the lodge, outside on the deck, and in the hot-tub.  We really didn't put ourselves under pressure to get out and do things - you didn't need to: the lodges and farm were more than enough.  Thank you for having us - we will be back!!

We cannot recommend Louise and the Woodland Lodge enough! The lodges are just perfect. Quiet, Scenic & High Quality. Louise met us on arrival, gave us the tour, then left us to it. We found the lodge to be very clean, well presented and extremely cosy. The kids loved the hot tub - and pretty much spent most of their time in there! Louise really has done a fantastic job with the lodge and we would 💯 recommend you book your stay here! We will 💯 return in the near future - and look forward to seeing Louise again.

We recently stayed at Woodlands Lodge and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The accommodation is finished to a remarkably high standard; it’s clear that every detail was thoughtfully designed with quality in mind, way above expectations. The location and views are breathtaking, photos do not do it justice. The hosts went over and above to ensure that we felt welcome and well-cared for throughout our visit. Our 5 year old twin boys were thrilled during our stay. They got to explore the wonderful surroundings by visiting the farm animals, and even got a chance to sit in a tractor. Thorneybank farm shop was amazing, packed with fresh produce and local delights, very welcoming and helpful owner. Overall, we highly recommend Logie Newton Lodges for anyone looking for a high-quality, welcoming retreat. A unique experience in a beautiful and very private location. We can’t wait to return!… without the kids!

We stayed in the 2 bed lodge for my sister’s 60th birthday in ‘March 2025. We have visited the farm on numerous occasions for the fantastic farm rides and watched with great interest as the lodges were being built. The finished result is excellent. The lodges are set up on the hill with panoramic views of Bennachie and surrounding countryside. The lodges are beautifully decorated with everything you could need for a stay. Plenty of room for the 6 guests as well as room for others who came for the afternoon tea. The hot tub was our favourite spot sitting out under the stars enjoying a glass (or 2) of Prosecco. We brought our little westie dog along to visit and he even had a fully enclosed dog park to play in. Looking forward to returning with the horses for a horsey holiday. Thoroughly recommend a stay.

Me and my partner stopped over as we had work in Turriff. It was lovely to come back to a calm, modern, relaxing environment. The lodge was absolutely stunning, huge credit to the owners for the attention to detail. Great place to take pets, would 100% come back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the lodge this weekend. Fully utilised the hot tub and was able to take in the views over a few drams. Stunning location; well kitted out place. Louise was very friendly and approachable - I was particularly grateful that she was able to accommodate a later check out. I will absolutely be back to this wonderful spot!

A Magical Countryside Retreat

Our stay at this stunning country Self-Catering Lodge was fabulous. From the moment we arrived at Bennachie Lodge, we were captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of the rolling countryside, with the iconic Bennachie in the distance. It truly is a new gem added to Aberdeenshire tourism, offering luxury, peace, beauty, and a deep connection to nature.

The lodge itself was superbly built by Mike — and along with Louise thoughtfully designed, extremely comfortable, and with every detail carefully considered. Cosy yet spacious, it provided the perfect setting for relaxation and catching up with loved ones. One of the highlights was spending the evening by the fire pit, gazing up at a sky full of stars, an unforgettable experience. Thank you Louise for the excellent sky app which helped pinpoint the star constellations. Then, waking up to a spectacular sunrise over the hills was simply magical.

The surrounding woodland walks were a joy to explore, offering fresh air and tranquility. The presence of ponies, alpacas, a variety of birds and the most adorable lambs added to the charm, making it feel like a true rural escape.

This lodge is an absolute dream for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. Louise & Mike can be very proud of what they have achieved here and we wish them both all the very best with their new adventure. Their passion and ideas introduces a way forward for rural tourism at Logie Newton in the 21st century. We very much look forward to returning.

My family and I had the most wonderful break here, staying in the Woodland Lodge. This lodge stands out more than any other we’ve visited. The views are spectacular! We managed to see the northern lights, thanks to a little guidance from Louise, otherwise I’m not sure we would have managed! We used the hot tub every day and the temp was perfect. We toasted marshmallows on the BBQ fire pit at sunset which was amazing. Our dog was made to feel as welcome as us which is important to us. We will definitely return, hopefully soon!

Our host Louise was so welcoming and provided everything we needed and more. We like to go away to lodges often with our dog, Cooper and Logie Newton has been our favourite by far. The location is perfect and feels so peaceful, we like to be active and there were so many farm walks and running routes for us to try which was great. The lodge itself is equipped with everything that we needed and decorated so well. Everything was thought of and was so cosy. Our dog Cooper loved it too - especially the hamper that was left for him with treats, towels, shampoo, bowls etc and the hot water hose was great for keeping him clean. The location of the hot tub was perfect to watch amazing sunsets and sunrises and star gazing - it really was perfect. Louise was very helpful and the pre arrival information was great and allowed us to plan different places we wanted to go, walking routes and local businesses. And offering to arrange a butchers order for our arrival was great! We will definitely be back!

We were lucky enough to stay in the larger lodge, the Woodland Lodge, for a few days last week. It is finished to a very high standard with great attention to detail. We had our wee dog with us, and there was a welcome basket there containing treats, shampoo, a lovely smelling spray, a super dry towel, and bowls were also provided. The kitchen is well equipped and the whole place was immaculate....we were honoured to be the first paying guests at the Woodland Lodge. We would all recommend a stay here. 10/10, a super build and a superior stay.

Having watched with great interest the development of Logie Newton lodges, we booked the Woodland lodge for a family get together last weekend. Despite the bad weather outside from storm Darragh, we had a lovely stay at the lodge.  The lodge was modern, cosy and spacious enough for our 5 adults, toddler and dog, with visits from Mike, Louise and Ozzy. Apart from food and personal items everything we needed was provided. The beds and sofas were very comfortable and the indoor climate control was great. Despite the floor being covered in grand daughter Emilie’s toys there was plenty of room for everyone to relax in comfort. I would highly recommend the Logie Newton lodges for anyone looking for great accommodation in a lovely quiet rural location.

We stayed in Bennachie lodge last week, and I wish I could have stayed there forever. Due to the snow we had to change our plans for going out and about but it turned out we had everything right on our doorstep. Hot tubs in the evening snow, miles of dog walks and views to die for from the sofa and the bed from those wonderful window walls!! Perfect way to relax. The attention to detail in the lodge is beyond amazing, I wish my house was kitted out as well. We all settled in straight away. The dogs had a great time and even the one that doesn't like thunder and lightning was completely unaware of the storms outside. Plus, it was amazing meeting your animals, Loon has stolen my heart. Thank you for looking after us so well.

May 2024, Google (about the Farm Ride)

I visited Logie Newton Farm April 2024. I highly recommend visiting with your horses if you get the chance, on arrival we were greeted and guided to our parking space by Louise. After tacking up she explained the safety rules and gave us directions on the route, (though it was clearly signed). After a small section of quiet roadwork you hit the tracks, they are all well prepared and the views are amazing. After some very wet weather and numerous events cancelled I was surprised this group ride went ahead, but the going was great, the ground wasn’t heavy and allowed for some serious fast work on the long hills. Go if you get the opportunity!

The tracks are really well kept and great underfoot - just perfect for walk, trot and canter. Really great for hill fitness, too - my poor wee horsey was rather sweaty by the end of our hack but we loved it. There are miles and miles of grassy tracks to explore and you get great views of Bennachie and its fine summits from various angles. You might spot some deer, and who knows, the odd farmer going about his business! There's a chance to practice going through water, too, with a wee burn to cross although you can go over the bridge if you prefer. Absolutely brilliant for horses and riders, whether you fancy a gentle plod or a more energy-fuelled blast! Highly recommended! A beautiful setting with stunning views!

I’ve visited Logie Newton Farm a few times with my highland pony and would highly recommend it. Louise and her family are very friendly and helpful. Louise has her own highland ponies so she understands horsey things. The hacking is amazing and it’s in a lovely setting.
