Accessibility

At Logie Newton Lodges, we believe holidays should be inclusive, relaxing, and enjoyable for everyone. We are committed to providing clear and honest information to help you decide whether our lodges suit your access needs.

Our lodges, Bennachie and Woodland, are set on a peaceful, rural farm in Aberdeenshire, surrounded by open countryside and native woodland. Both offer modern interiors, accessible layouts, and thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable.

Parking and access to lodges

• Each lodge has level parking directly outside on rolled hardcore, with slabbed paths running along the rear of the lodge.
• Access onto the spacious decking is via either a ramp or steps, both built with non-slip wooden decking.
• From the decking, there is step-free access into the lodge through extra-wide doors (minimum 1.2m), suitable for wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility.

Inside the lodges

• The lodges are all on one level, with no internal steps or thresholds.
• All rooms have laminate flooring, and we’ve avoided rugs or mats to reduce trip hazards.
• There’s plenty of turning space for wheelchair users throughout.

Shower rooms

• Each shower room features a walk-in shower with a low tray and a non-slip mat available for use.
• At present, there are no fixed grab rails or shower seating.
• Toilets and sinks are at standard height.

Kitchens and dining

• Kitchens are equipped with surfaces and appliances at standard heights. The microwave is wall-mounted, which may be less accessible for some guests.
• There is sufficient space to manoeuvre a wheelchair in the kitchen and dining areas.

Lighting and environment

• Lighting throughout the lodges is bright and evenly distributed, suitable for most guests with visual impairments.
• Bathrooms are fitted with a quiet extractor fan, and the kitchen has a standard extractor hood above the hob.
• We do not use diffusers or strong fragrances. Complimentary toiletries are lightly scented.

Dogs and assistance animals

• Assistance dogs are welcome in both lodges.
• Each lodge has a fully enclosed garden, and there is a secure dog park onsite for guest use, ideal for off-lead exercise.

We are happy to assist where we can, whether that’s providing more detailed measurements, helping with unloading luggage, or answering questions about the layout. Just let us know your needs in advance, and we will do our best to help.

Ongoing improvements

While our lodges offer good accessibility for many, we are always looking for ways to improve. We hope to add additional features in the future and welcome feedback from guests to guide us.
