- Fires may only be lit in the designated fire pit at each lodge.
- When in use, the barbecue fire pit can never to be left unattended and must be fully extinguished after use.
- No naked flames are permitted inside the accommodation or on the farm, except for the use of the designated BBQ fire pit outside each lodge.
Candles, Fireworks, Chinese lanterns and portable BBQs are prohibited on our site (including the farm). This is both for the safety of guests and animals. - Clothing or material of any kind must never be hung or dried next to or on the BBQ fire pit as this represents a significant fire risk.
Hot Tub
The hot tub is one of the highlights of our guests’ stay but there are very important health and safety aspects to its use which you should heed for your own wellbeing.
Guests use the hot tub at their own risk.
Please adhere to the following health and safety rules:
- The hot tub is only open from 8am to 10pm daily. Please respect these timings out of respect for our neighbours.
- Please take a shower prior to entering the hot tub.
- Do not enter the hot tub if you have the following on your body – cosmetics, fake tan, body lotion, body oil or any other substance that might wash off in the hot tub water. Please note such substances can react with your hot tub water causing it to discolour, froth, create an odour, turn the water oily, clog the filter and stain the hot tub.
- Please shower again after using the hot tub, if you do not shower your skin can become irritated.
- Take care not to slip when entering or exiting the hot tub as the deck area may be wet – enter and exit the hot tub slowly using the steps provided.
- Do not use the hot tub for more than 15 minutes per hour and ensure you have ‘time out’ to cool off in between using the tub.
- Maximum temperature is 38oC (100oF) – do not exceed this temperature
- DO NOT USE GLASS IN OR NEAR THE HOT TUB, this includes bottles – only use the plastic glasses provided in the kitchen cupboard. This is very important as any broken glass on the deck or in the hot tub can hurt both our staff, future guests and yourselves.
- No children under 18 to use the hot tub without adult supervision.
- No diving or jumping and do not put your head under the water at anytime.
- No alcohol or drugs as they can impair judgement and increase risks of drowning and injury.
- We operate a strictly non-smoking policy (both inside and outside the building) and therefore smoking is not allowed near to or in the hot tub.
- Please flip back the lid, on the stand - the tub lid sits behind the hot tub upright. Do not remove the whole lid and put it on the deck.
- Replace the cover while you are not using the hot tub - this is really important to both keep the heat in and also to protect the water against air borne bacteria.
- IF dizzy or unwell, exit the hot tub immediately.
- Do not use the hot tub if you are pregnant or could be pregnant.
- Consult your doctor prior to use if you have any recognised medical conditions including heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure or if you are elderly.
- Do not switch the hot tub off at the mains. It stays on. Only In EMERGENCY should you switch it off at the mains.
- Eating is not permitted in the hot tub.
Dogs
We love to welcome your four legged dog members of the family and simply ask that you please follow the below rules:
- Dogs are only allowed in the Bennachie and Woodland Lodges.
- Dogs must be booked in and the cost is £30 per dog per visit. This helps us to provide the facilities for your dog to enjoy.
- Only bring your dog to stay if they are fully house trained. We regret that we cannot accept dogs who are using indoor puppy pads or similar.
- Breeds on the dangerous dog list or fighting dogs unfortunately are not accepted.
- Be neat and wipe your paws. If your dog needs a clean up, please use the outdoor wash bay and not the indoor human showers. We will provide dog towels in your dog welcome hamper to help dry them off.
- Pick up your dogs poops as they happen and pop them in one of the doggy bins around the farm. Free poop bags are provided in your doggy welcome hamper.
- Check that you are satisfied that the area e.g. garden or dog park is safe and secure for your dog before letting them off the lead. Each owners assessment of a “secure area” is different as are the needs and capability of each dog. We leave it up to you to make this safety assessment on behalf of your individual pet.
- Please don’t leave your dog alone in the property, even for a short time.
- The dog park is available for guests to use free of charge. We do however ask you pre book your slot via our Guest Guide and only use the park during our pre booked time slot. This is to ensure all guests and their dogs are comfortable and safe.
- Dogs must be on a lead at all times when not in the lodge garden or secure dog area. This is to ensure the safety of livestock, children and guests roaming free around the site.
- We know some of us love to have cuddles from our dogs. We therefore ask that dogs are not allowed on the furniture unless the dog throws provided are used.
- For those who like to share the bed with their four legged friends, please bring your own bed linen (duvet, pillows, sheets and respective covers).
- Please leave the lodge clean and tidy. If the property requires additional cleaning due to excessive dog hair or if dogs have been in the bedrooms without the use of own bedding, or on a sofa without the use of throws, or there are poops in the garden, we will charge a minimum £100 fee to cover the cost.
- You are responsible for your dog and you will be charged for any damage caused by your dog.
If there is anything you are unsure about before booking your stay with your dog, please do get in touch. We will be delighted to help.
